We had a wonderful Concert last night at Rocketown
(the Michael W. Smith Venue in downtown Nashville) with the grammy nominated
Universal South Russian artists, Bering Strait. (If you don't know about this
group, you may want to go on line and read about them....they are just
terrific!!)
They came to us two months ago and asked if they
could hold a concert for the Russian orphans. Tanya and Carrie worked
tirelessly to pull this off in a very short time, and it was really wonderful,
as you can see from the pictures. We have one of the performance, the
operation hope children that are here, and the band signing autographs. The
Gold Circle reception featured meeting the band and receiving autographed
t-shirt, posters, and cds. (The pictures of the one of last year's Operation
Hope participants with Sasha, from the band.)
We are happy to say we raised over $3000, not
including over $1300 in donations from the local Russian Market, Aleksey's,
for the venue and refreshments. Other sponsors were MidTown Printing and
Universal South. We also had over 15 volunteers who helped make this event
such a success! This fund-raiser is to go towards Operation Hope so that we
can continue this program in the future!
Our thanks go to Bering Strait for their generous
donation of their talents and their time, as well as Carrie, Tanya, our
sponsors and the volunteers.
